RECORD LABEL RESEARCH

I discovered this mood board of existing record company logos to motivate my design ideas for my own record label design. I regarded a whole assortment of record labels, including the four big companies (Sony, Warner, EMI and Universal), as well independent companies. This helped me get a much more illustrative idea of the genre, Alternative Rock, as a whole.

I formed my own record label and its logo to use throughout the project and appear as the distributor and promoter of the video I am producing for “Little Black Submarines” by The Black Keys. In veracity, this company would hypothetically take the place of the parent label "Nonesuch Records". Like Nonesuch Records, my label will only have The Black Keys supposedly devoted to it; therefore it is vital that the design of the logo reflects the style of music of the founding artist.
